PRIVACY POLICY

WHAT THIS GAME COLLECTS

W.O.M.D. is a free browser-based strategy game. We collect the minimum data needed to run multiplayer features and keep the game free through advertising.

ACCOUNT DATA

If you sign in with Google (required for multiplayer), we receive:

• Your Google display name
• Your Google profile photo URL
• A unique user ID (Firebase UID)

We do not receive or store your email address, Google password, or any other Google account data. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google Cloud).

GAME DATA

When you play multiplayer games, we store:

• Your game statistics (wins, losses, draws, ELO rating)
• Per-game stats (cities captured, missiles launched, casualties inflicted)
• Match history (game outcomes, opponents, rounds played)
• In-game orders submitted during active games (purchases, attacks, deployments)

Game data is stored on our servers and associated with your Firebase UID. Solo games against the CPU also run through our server but are not stored long-term.

COOKIES AND TRACKING

We use cookies only with your explicit consent:

• Google Analytics (analytics_storage) — tracks page views, session duration, and general usage patterns to help us improve the game. No personal data is shared.
• Google AdSense (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) — serves advertisements that keep this game free. May use cookies for ad targeting if you consent.

If you click "Essential Only" on the consent banner, no analytics or advertising cookies are set. Google Analytics and AdSense scripts are not loaded at all until you consent.

ESSENTIAL STORAGE

The following are used without requiring consent as they are essential for the game to function:

• localStorage — stores your cookie consent choice and visual style preference. No personal data.
• Firebase Authentication tokens — session tokens for signed-in users. Managed by Google Firebase.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database) — Firebase Privacy Policy
• Google Analytics — Google Privacy Policy
• Google AdSense — Google Ads Privacy
• Three.js (via CDN) — 3D rendering library. No data collected.

DATA RETENTION

• Active game state is deleted when a game ends.
• Player statistics and match history are retained as long as your account exists.
• You can request deletion of your data by contacting us.

YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for analytics and advertising at any time (clear your localStorage or click "Essential Only")
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

CHILDREN

This game involves simulated warfare and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
